Safra Colors
The following decorative plaster finishes are manufactured from Safra
Colors S.p.A., Safra is a leader in Italy for restoration products, working
hand in hand with plaster applicators specializing in "restoration"
that is virtually all over Italy, parts of Austria, and Germany, to name
a few. It has been my privilege to be trained and certified as a "Master
Applicator" by their chemists and engineers. A few of my color samples
and work are pictured below.

Veneziano ~ this is a resin based
Venetian plaster that can be created in any color or bi-color combination.
It is retouchable and washable with most detergents making it ideal
for high end public areas, hotel lobbies, corporate buildings, or
a bedroom. This plaster is very durable and can resist over 50,000
brushstrokes.

Calcenova ~ Safra's version of Venetian
plaster utilizing 100% lime and minerals for "restoration approved"
applications. Calcenova is breathable, has a little less shine,
feels more like stone, and has a more earthy appearance.

Mantovano ~ This castle wall plaster
is a very popular dating back to the Renaissance; originating in
the ancient city of Mantua. From Tuscan colors to palatial off whites,
Stucco Mantovano has a one of a kind stunning appearance
seen throughout Italy.

| Fiorentino
~ This stucco gives a soft matte appearance to walls and ceilings.
A very smooth, soothing visual effect and easy to clean. This plaster
is often used on transition walls and hallways, and is ideal as an
alternate plaster to Veneziano.

| Marmorino
~ 100% lime-based plaster meeting restoration requirements. The finish
is more matte in appearance with real black or white Carrera marble
rock bits showing. This plaster is plush and is found throughout Italy,
inside or outside!

| Murs d' Art
~ Italy's authentic original faux look. It is very popular and
its appearance is texture and rock. Surprisingly smooth to the touch,
this Venetian plaster has the look and feel of stone and has a hint
of Spain. This is cellulose based stucco that is excellent for interiors;
is mold and mildew resistant, and helps in sound-proofing.

| Travertino
~ 100% lime-based plaster meeting restoration requirements. This
plaster is excellent for columns, fireplaces, and walls of indirect
lighting. As the indirect light of the day changes, the cut of the
plaster reflects differently to bring out different shades, and can
have the appearance of unpolished Travertine Stone.

| Fresconova
~ One can have the elegance of Veneziano plaster with all its
glamour, but just a hint of grit too! This authentic plaster was used
100 years ago before the invention of fine mesh filters.

| Aquarello
~ plaster is applied as one layer of product, or it is applied
with two layers of product and called Aquarello with interest (texture).
It is painted with a water base glaze very resistant to graffiti and
is extremely durable. It's a rough texture finish that creates the
look of a country home. Safra's building is covered with this finish.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

| Stucco
Romano ~ a true faux plaster used today with glazes and wax for
another distinctive look. Bag and Rag try to copy this look. An indoor
finish.
